Sakhalin Island

Just off the east coast of Russia lies Sakhalin Island - a 950 km strip of land extending up from the northern tip of Japan. Varying weather conditions and active geography make for extreme technical challenges but the world's oil majors are queuing up to get involved in developing this region which has the potential to be one of the biggest oil and gas sites in the world.
