The time of your life
You spend a lot of time working. It helps if you do something you enjoy and find rewarding and are in the company of people you like. You need encouragement, support, help and training. You need opportunities to grow, to earn more, to travel, and keep on learning. And you want to know that your work will make a difference – to you and to others.
How Rosa is developing her career with PSN
"I joined PSN as a graduate in January 2007. My dad has worked with PSN in the Philippines for a long time, so I already knew the company was a good place to work. I was invited to Aberdeen to take part in the graduate assessment programme and when I passed I was offered a position on the CNR project in Aberdeen.
I'm really enjoying my time in Aberdeen. Overseas travel is a major attraction for me and I'm keen to get more exposure to other cultures, companies and projects. Since being here I’ve received valuable technical and on-the-job training, and coaching from experienced engineers.
Visiting different locations helps you understand different perspectives and I've been able to put theory into practice and really see how things fit together. It has also been great personal development. The highlight so far has been meeting so many new people. In two years' time I hope to achieve chartership with the Institute of Chartered Engineering and use my experience to continue to develop within PSN’s network."
